Bethany's first gift from Gong Gong & Pao Pao

In the chinese culture, it is very common that babies receive jade jewllery from their grandparents as the first gift. Gold, on the other hand, is generally not given to any new born babies at all.

Last thursday when we got home from the hospital. My mom gave Bethany her very first gift. My parents got this gift in Hong Kong when dad went to HK in March. Bethany received her very first Jade necklace and a bracelet. This reminds me that when I was a baby, I also received those two items from my grandparents. I guess Chinese traditions pass from generations to generations!
