Week 27 -- May 25 - May 31,2009

Week 27 -- May 25 - 31, 2009

Monday May 25

Last week in the second Trimester. I am excited as as the journey in pregnancy is almost 2/3 over. At the same time, I have trouble sleeping at night! I can no longer sleep on my back, and sleeping on my side makes my arm numb! Long sigh!

Tuesday May 26

Bad news! Joe and I ordered the Uppababy Vista Stroller sunday night. Originally, it would arrive in three weeks! Just got an e-mail from the vendor that the color we ordered is backordered, and it will take about about a month to bring it in. Long sigh... so I won't be able to test out the stroller until early July!

Joe and I went to the year-end 25th Nepean Scouts's BBQ event. It was the first time I've been to a Scouts' event!

Wednesday May 27

The Knights of Columbus's Executive Meeting was held at our home... I was going to make a cheesecake, but I ran out of time... so I ended up serving a cheese platter, belgian chocolates and some chips!

Talked to mom for almost an hour tonight. Mom has been making tons of beddings for Baby Bethany! Mom said she will start knitting sweaters next week! Speaking of knitting... I really need to finish off my first baby blanket and move onto booties!

Thursday May 28

I went for the Glucouse Screening Test. The sugary liquid they made me drink is yucky!! It tastes like flat orange pop! I had to wait for an hour in the lab after I told the drink before they took my blood. The pop makes me very dizzy and I almost dozed off! :-)

Joe and I went to the 25the Nepean Scouts' Award Ceremony. Joe had been with the Scouts for two decades and he received a 10 year Service award as a volunteer!

Friday May 29

With all the after-work activities this week... I was completely drained by friday evening. Joe and I stayed in and took it easy. I made chicken thighs with mushrooms sauce and sushi for dinner! We took it easy and it was a great thing to rewind... as Saturday is going to be a super busy day.

Saturday May 30

Joe and I took Bee Bee to the groomer this morning. After we dropped her off, we went for breakfast at Franken'stein in Manitock. When we went to paid the bill, the cashier asked me how far along am I, and she told me that I look great and I am still so tiny consider I am only two days away from entering the third Trimester! :-) Everyone has been telling me that I look great and that I look small... seriously??? I have put on 20lbs and while I think I am fat and huge... everyone thinks that I am glowing!

After breakfast, we took a stroll along Manitock Main Street, and came across a Kid's shop. We bought a Kushies's Baby Blanket for Baby Bethany!

Week 26 -- Tuesday May 19 to Sunday May 24

Tuesday May 19

I hate short work weeks! I do not function well at all! I spent half a day on Tuesday, thinking it was Monday!!!

Wenesday May 20
My boss went in for surgery today. He will be off work for at least 6 weeks. I hope he will have a speedy recovery. In the meantime... I am dealing with tons of crap at work!!! I wonder why there are people out there who are super afraid to make decisions, prefer to delegate all the tasks to others and pretend to be busy. Isn't that more work to pretend to be busy at work rather than actually working?

Thursday May 21
Woke up with mild lower backpain (the right side only!) and aweful heartburn. I stayed home for the day, and ended up napping on the couch, with bee bee laying on my stomach. There is an old-wife's tale that if the mom has lots of hearburn during the pregnancy, the baby will have lots of hair! I wonder if there is any solid scientific proof to it!

Friday May 22
Dentist appointment in the afternoon! When I went in to get my teeth cleaned 2 months ago, I had a small cavity. The dentist urged me to go in and get the cavity filled while I am still in my second trimester. With only two more weeks left in T2, I had no choice but went in on friday to have the cavity filled. I HATE going to the dentist. Last time I went in, I almost passed out on the chair. The dentist even made a note on my chart! This time, I went in with Mr. Teddy Bear.... and I was less nervous! I managed to walk out of the dentist's office without shaking legs or a pale face!

Saturday May 23
Joe and I started a major landscaping projection today! We decided to open up the flower bed in the front lawn and moved some hostas planted along the side of the house to the flower bed. It was a half-day work but it was done by 3pm. Now we just need to get a truck of soil to fill the flower bed! As for the side of the house, there is a hairline crack and we are waiting for Joe's dad to come in July to fix it for us. Until then, we won't be able to plant anything in that area. Our plan is that once the crack is filled, we will plant tulips bulbs in the fall in that area!

Sunday May 24
Church in the morning as usual. After church we went to Kiddy Town on St. Lauent Blvd to look at strollers. We received a cheque from my in laws earlier this week as they want to contribute to the baby's first set of wheels.
We first had our eyes set on the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe Travel System. After reading reveiws on the internet, I found that there are strollers out there with much better quality. My friend who had a baby girl last September had a Graco Stroller and the wheels are broken after 8 months of use! I also went on www.costco.ca site and some people who bought Graco strollers also commented that the front wheels break easy. I spent two days googling strollers and from what I read on the internet, I ruled out the Graco stroller! Two days ago, I found the stroller I absolutely LOVE:

Uppababy Vista 2009
Color: Denny (a.k.a. Red)

From Drop Box

Joe came home on Thursday and I told him that's what I want. I made him watch at least 10 different video clips on how the stroller folds and unfolds.... he was ok with it until I told him how much it costs! He was like," What? It costs about $900 with tax???? What's wrong with the Graco Stroller? It is under $300??????" I think he was only seconds from a heartattack!

I made him watch more video clips on the Uppababy. A few things about Uppa:
1. Single wheel instead of double wheels. Double wheels is a disaster when walking in the snow as the snow will build up between the two wheels, making pushing the stroller next to impossible (so Graco is out! Yay!)
2. It folds up nicely! It can be folded up with or without the seat, and it is not as clumsy as the Graco!
3. It comes with the bassinet so we don't need to spend $$$ on a rocking bassinet. We are planning on putting the baby in the bassinet for the first few weeks before moving her to the crib in the nursery.
4. It is modern and light!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

So sunday afternoon, after church, we went to Kiddy Town to "test-drive" the uppababy vista! My feeling towads the Uppababy did not change... and I simply enjoyed pushing the stroller in the store! At last Joe said to me, "Hon, as long as this makes you happy... we are going to get this!" Awwww... isn't Joe nice? I can picture myself taking Bethany for walks in the park a lot!

Week 26 -- Monday May 18

Week 26 -- Monay May 18

I woke up at 5:30am! With the growing tummy, I find out having a good night beauty sleep is not impossible, but simply rare!

We had breakfast buffet at the Inn. The restaurant is located at a small corner of the inn. If it was not too windy and a bit chilly in the morning, Joe and I would have sat outside in the patio!

After breakfast, we walked to the winery for wine tasting tour. This was the first time I went to a winery and was not allowed to do wine tasting. LONG SIGH!!!! Joe did all the wine tasting, and based on his findings, we bought 2006 South Bay Merlot, 2006 South Bay Chardonnay and 2007 Rose. These bottles of wine will be racked in the cold storage room for a long time! Well, I guess by the time Baby Bethany is one year old, and I am done with breastfeeing, I will be able to pop open a bottle of Merlot and pour myself a glass!:-)

After the wine tasting, we checked out at the Inn and drove to Sandbanks Provincial Park for a walk. I was so amazed when I saw the sandbank which is the longest one in North America. Joe and I had a romantic walk along the beach! We kept telling each other that if we ever go to Prince Edward County again, there will be three pairs of Crocs intsead of two!

Week 25 -- Saturday May 17 & Sunday May 18

Week 25 -- Saturday May 17 & Sunday May 18

I woke up super early and the intolerable back pain was gone... just like magic! WOW!

While I was still half asleep, Joe gave me my wedding anniversary present! A card and a black pearl necklace! I googled gift ideas on first year wedding anniversary a few weeks ago. Traditional gift is paper. Modern gift is clock. Ok... I can't simply go to Staples and buy Joe stacks of printer paper right? As for clock... as much as Joe needs a new alarm clock (his is dying... which is a good thing as it translates to no more Chez 106.1!!!!!!!), I could not bring myself to get him a clock as a gift. In the Chinese culture, it is considered casting a curse on the recipient by presenting him/her a clock! So, I settled for a card, an i-Tune gift card and my wedding vow (if I was allowed to write my own wedding vow on our wedding day!) I started working on the wedding vow about three weeks ago... and I had given a lot of thoughts into it.

Joe and I had been through a lot during our first year of marriage. I had surgery last July. My grandmother passed away in mid August. Joe had heart surgery in late August. My uncle passed away in mid November. I got pregnant in mid November. Issues with Joe's family in March, and I almost lost our baby because of the idiotic threats and harassment from Joe's sister. Joe stood up for me and defended me against his family. This past year was not a fun ride for Joe and I. However, through all these incidents, Joe and I have found strength in our marriage. Our faith in our marriage have grown. Our love for each other have strengthened. Today, we stand united as a couple that no one can shatter.

We went to Prince Edward Country for our mini romantic getaway. We booked ourselves into the Inn at Huff Estate Winery. It was a relaxing weekend and we did not really have set schedule. We had breakfast in Merrickville.

From Drop Box

We spent the entire afternoon strolling on the Main Street in Picton. We went to Miss Lily's Cafe for coffee and biscotti and we played a round of Backgammon. It was my first time playing this game and Joe is great teacher.

We stayed at the Inn @ Huff Estate and it was a very neat hotel!

Week 25 -- Saturday May 16

Week 25 -- Saturday May 16

Woke up early morning with cramps in the left leg. Gosh... I know muscle cramps will somehow hit me during this pregnancy, I was sort of prepared for it, well, at least I thought I was, until it hit me hard this morning. It was in so much pain that I screamed and woke Joe up. Joe was like, "Are you in labour?" and then he went back to sleep! Man!

We went to our friends, Phil and Shirley's wedding at Blessed Sacrament Church. Exactly one year ago, the saturday of the May long weekend. Joe and I, with God and our friends and families as witnesses, we became husband and wife at Blessed Sacrament. One year later, we were at the church, attending our friends's weddding at the same church. It brings back a lot of sweet memories. It seems that Joe and I got married yesterday. I still remember clearly how nervous I was when I walked down the aisle, how Joe looked when he saw me in the wedding dress, how happy my parents were... it was a just perfect wedding! :-)

Joe and I went to the wedding reception at Minto Suite Hotel. We did not know anyone there other than Phil and Shirley. When we found out our friends Gen and Steve were at our table, we were so relieved to see familiar faces. All in all, the wedding reception was great and we had a lot of fun. By the end of the night, we found the perfect photographer of our maternity session!

Half way through the main course, I had really bad lower back pain and sitting in the chair was just killing me. I ended up walking around so much that I lost interest in the food. All I could think of was it would be super comfry for lay on the dance floor! I know this sounds crazy, but that was the only thing on my mind at that time! Towards the end, Joe noticed how uncomfortable I was and he suggested that we went home! We did not get to stay to wait for newlywed's first dance! :-(

Week 25 -- Friday May 15

Week 25 -- Friday May 15

Friday before the long weekend! Joe and I had a packed schedule ahead of us:

Saturday: Phil and Shirley's wedding

Sunday: Our one-year wedding anniversary romantic getaway

Monday: Our one-year wedding anniversary romantic getaway

We managed to leave work on time Friday afternoon. I sent Joe to do Candle deliveries for me while I went to makeself pretty (a.k.a. facial) for our friends' wedding on Saturday.

By the time I got home from the beauty session, Joe had just finished all the deliveries.... it was almost 7:30pm.. and we went to Boston Pizza for a quick bite. I am not a big fan of Boston Pizza, but here in Barrhaven, there isn't much choice for restaurants.

Week 25 -- Thursday May 14

Week 25 -- Thursday May 14

I had a good night sleep last night! I think the yoga class last night contributes to the restful and peaceful sleep. I slept a lot when I was in T1 and lately, I have noticed that I do not sleep as much as I used to, probably due to the ever-growing tummy. My mom told me that it has to do with my body is preparing for the coming of the baby and that when the baby is born, I will be in a sleep-deprived mode and the body is training me to adjust to this change now.

Joe was sick when he woke up. He was sneezing and had a stuffy nose. So he stayed home for the day while I drove myself to work. With the long weekend coming up (Wedding on Saturday and our wedding anniversary overnight trip to Prince Edward County on Sunday), I hope he will get better soon!

Before I got pregnant, we were planning to go on a 10-day South Carribean cruise trip to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. I even got as far as narrowing down to one (and only one) cruise line and the room # and the deck level that we would be booking ourselves on. Now that I am pregnant, my parents suggested that we postpone the cruise trip for a while.... long sigh! The fact that I am pregnant does not stop Joe and I from planning a nice and romantic weekend getaway. We have decided to spend two days at Prince Edward County I spent a few nights researching for the perfect accomdation at Prince Edward County and we have settled for the Inn @ Huff Estates.

Week 25 -- Wednesday May 13

Marie-Eve and I went for our first pre-natal yoga class this evening. Marie-Eve is a girl at work I met through a Barrhaven Get Together organized by Weddingbells.ca. We both live in Barrhaven, we both love dogs and funny thing is, we both work at the Costco Canadian Buying Office, but have never crossed path at work.

Marie-Eve is also pregnant, and she is about 10 weeks behind me. We have been sharing a lot of pregnancy tips, and mostly of all, shopping tips!

I have done yoga before, mostly bikram yoga or hot power yoga. I am used to doing yoga in an extremely hot room and that the yoga mat gets all sticky and I come out of the room soaking wet. Last night, for the first time ever, I walked out of the yoga room without a sticky mat and a sweaty body! I am planning on going for pre-natal yoga once a week until I am simply too big and cumbersome to do any of the poses (probably when I am 36 - 38 weeks!)

Week 25 -- Tuesday May 12

Week 25 -- Tuesday May 12

I had three training classes at work today! By the time the classes were over, it was already 2pm. Tomorrow will be a catch-up day for sure!

Joe is out for meeting tonight... KOC's election night! I think he will be re-elected as the Recorder this year again! I support Joe 100% on his involvement with the Knights!

Ok... Joe has a meeting with the Scouts' Peak Committee next week. He e-mailed the committee chair on the weekend about doing a candle fundraising event. The chair seemed pretty interested in the idea and asked Joe to put together a proposal for the next meeting. Being an independent demonstrator with Gold Canyon Candle, it is my passion to tell people how great the products are. I offer out my 25% commisson for this Scout's fundraising event. I just enjoy doing this side job and I get great satisfaction. Joe has been very supportive about my side business... if it was not his encouragement, I would not have signed up to become an independent demonstrator. It is also my goal that this will keep me occupied during one year maternity leave. I know that looking after baby Bethany will probably take up most of my time, but in order to have a balance in my new role as a stay-home-mom, I need to do something that I am passionate about to keep my sanity in place.

I bought a diaper bag today! It is a Posh Mom's diaper bag! I have been shopping for diaper bag for a long time. I hate the ones I see at Zellers and Walmart. I mean, I love Winnie the Pooh, but I just hate to carry a Winnie the Pooh's diaper bag. I want some chic and fashionable yet practical... until I found Posh Mom's diaper bag! It is 100% cotton so it is machine washable! I love my diaper bag!

Week 25 Monday May 11

Week 25 -- Monday May 11

Ultrasound at 9am. Joe was tied up with meetings at work. So I went by myself. I had an ultrasound when I was 20 weeks. Baby was laying on her stomach, so we did not get a chance to see her face. My OB / GYN thus ordered another ultrasound so that we could see her face and make sure the face structure is ok. So I went in with my fingers crossed that she would cooperate this time.

Little did I know that Baby Bethany had her own little plan. This time, she was not laying on her stomach. Instead, she had her legs and arms on her face, and she was only showing her face enough for the technican to confirm that she does not have cleft lip! Although I was disappointed that I could not see her face and could not get a nice ultrasound picture to add to her pre-born photo album. I was super relieved to find out that she does not have cleft lip.

I also asked the technician to check carefully (check once, check twice and check three times) to see if there is any signs of brain tumor or cysts in Bethany's head. This has been my biggest fear and worry since I have become pregnant. Joe's nephew has a brain tumor which impairs his motor and speech skills. I have been worrying sick that somehow it runs in Joe's family and that our baby would, unfortunately "inherit" it. When the technician told me her head looks clear and normal... I was so relieved that I had joyful tears in my eyes! I could not find words to describe how happy and relieved I was at that time. Lucky that Joe was not with me, or he would have asked me to "cut it out"! :-)

OB / GYN appotintment at 11:30am. Everything went fine. Blood pressure was normal. Baby's heart rate was 153, strong and healthy! That's my girl! I will need to go and get the Glucose test done beofre I am 30 weeks. Yuck... I have heard so much and googled so much about this famous Glucose test. It is not something I am looking forward to!

Spoke to my mom in the evening about the ultrasound and doctor's appointment. When I told mom that I could not see Bethany's face. My mom laughed and said that Bethany must be really shy! I do, however, have a different theory. Bee Bee has been spending a lot of time laying against my tummy. I guess somehow she must have told Bethany to hide her face during the ultrasound so that we won't find out how she looks until the day she comes out of me! I told Joe about my theory and Joe simply laughed!

My mom is a gifted and talented woman. Since she found out I am pregnant, she has been sewing beddings for the baby. She is also planning on knitting sweaters and blankets for the baby. She has recently learn how to quilt as she wants to make a quilt for the baby. Bethany's very first quilt from her grandmother... this is so sweet! Mom sent me a few pictures of the beddings she has done so far last night. I have a feeling that's just the "tip of the iceberg" as I think there are many more "hand-made with love" beddings to come! Joe and I have no doubt that Bethany will get all the tender loving care and attention from her Gong Gong (grandpa) and Pao Pao (grandma)!

Week 24 -- Friday May 8 to Sunday May 10

Week 24 -- Friday May 8

Second Gold Canyon Candle Party tonight. Marie-Eve bought a friend over. The three of us ended up chatting about tons of things other candles. We talked about house hunting, fashion, gym, massage, and of course boys... It was a fun night!

Saturday May 9
I went for a hair cut on the morning. I dropped off a Gold Canyon Candle catalogue and a tealight for my hair-dresser. Direct selling is all about networking. I was hoping that her clients will be interested in the candles and I will have more party sales! :-)

Joe was out half a day delivering mother's day flowers for church. He asked me if I wanted a bouquet of flowers for Mother's Day, and I told him no. I am not technically a mother yet... and I am not a big fan of flowers. Joe came home around 3pm with two dozens of long stem roses! Gosh what a surprise! Joe always like to buy me flowers and he will not miss any opportunity or occasion of buying me flowers. Flowers are lovely... from Costco!

Sunday May 10
Happy Mother's Day! This Mother's day has different meanings to me:
1. Happy Mother's Day to my mom... a talented and gifted woman. She gave me a fairy tale wedding last year. This year, she is going to make her first grand-daugther a princess!
2. Happy Mother's Day to my mother in law, Sandy. My relationship with Sandy has strengthened throughout time. Joe and I are very looking forward to their visit in July! Joe will have some father-and-son bonding time with his dad when they are building the deck together!
3. Happy mother's day to me! Being a mom-to-be, I am excited about the idea that by this day of next year, other than Bee Bee, I will have a daughter who will be calling me "Mom Mom"!

Joe suggested going out for brunch, but I did not wait to end up spending an hour or so waiting to be seated as Mother's Day is the one day of the year that all restaurants are packed. We stayed in and Joe make lovely french toast!

After breakfast, as usual, we went for the 10am mass at S.E.A.S. After that we went to Tip Top Tailor as Joe needed to rent a tux for his Knights of Columbus's 4th Degree ceremony in June.
Sunday was a pretty relaxing day for us. Afterall, I am 24 weeks pregnant, and "shop till I drop" does not apply to me anymore. I took it easy for the rest of the day, and had an afternoon catnap. For dinner, we had Better Than Butter Chicken (recipe from ESBM)!

Week 24 -- Thursday May 7

Week 24 -- Thursday May 7

All the bosses are out of the office this week. It is a good thing as I can really get work done without being constantly interrupted.

So, my second candle party is this Friday. Yay! I am really looking forward to it and am keeping my fingers crossed that someone will book a party off my party, and that's how the direct-selling business grows.

Ever since I enrolled as an independent demonstrator with Gold Canyon, I find that I am more out-going than before. I went to a Barrhaven GTG organized by weddingbells.ca a few weeks ago. When I told Joe I was going to the GTG and I knew no one there, Joe was amazed. Now thinking back, I really had no idea where I got the courage to go and have dinner with a bunch of strangers but at the end of the night, ended up making a few friends, and hence, the second candle party! :-)

I am currently working on a potential third and fourth candle party. If things go well, I will be able to meet my first sales goal: $700 sales in the first 30 days! I am thinking positive. I love the products and I am confident that people will love the products. I mean, seriously, who does not love candles? It took me two years to convert from Partylite fan to Gold Canyon fan, and I really stand behind the Gold Canyon products to be confidnent and comfortable to sell them to my friends! :-)

Week 24 -- Tuesday May 4 & Wednesday May 5

Week 24 -- Tuesday May 4 & Wednesday May 5

Tuesday May 4
Woke up with a sharp pain in the back... I must have, once again, slept on my back last night. ARRRGGGHHHHH! One thing I still have not gotten used to is to sleep only on my sides during the pregnancy. When sleeping on my sides, I often wake up with a numb arm and numb fingers. Sleeping on my back (which is my favourite pre-pregnancy sleeping position) gives me back pain. So seriously... for those experienced moms out there, please recommend a possible sleep position to me... before I become a mad-mom-to-be!

I took a day off today as I was not feeling too well... I ended up spending half a day sleep on the couch with bee bee on my tummy.

I really think that bee bee knows that there is little bundle growing inside of me, and she has been very careful around my tummy. From time to time, she will climb up to my tummy gently and rest her head on my tummy, as if she is trying to listen to her little sister!

Wednesday May 5
We got our second vehicle today! Joe's very first car! It is a 2010 Toyota Matrix!
By the time we left the dealership it was almost 7pm, and I went and picked up some chinese take out (authentic chinese takeout, not the sweet and sour chicken balls type of takeout!)

I really hope that my candle business is going to take off... I have a strong feeling about it.

The second candle party is scheduled this friday evening at our house. I am keeping my fingers crossed that someone will book a show at my party. A third party is in the works, as one of the girls who wants to come to this friday's party won't be able to make it. Surprisingly, her fiance convinced her to host a party of her own! I e-mailed her about all the advantages of hosting her own party (i.e. getting free products and 1/2 price items...) so hopefully she will host her party!!! :-)

I asked Joe to take a picture of me this morning just before we were off to work...
A picture of me... 24 weeks and 3 days... gosh I am really showing eh?
The top that I wore in the picture... my mom made it!!! So far, this is my favourite maternity top!

Week 24 -- Monday May 4

Week 24 -- Monday May 4

Ok... I blame this on the pregnancy hormones... It is getting harder and harder to wait till the whole week go by, then do an recap and post it on my blog. I have been very forgettful lately. Lately, the conversation between Joe and I are as follows:
" Joe, did you lock the door?"
" Yes Hon"
10 mins later I asked again,
"Joe, did you lock the door?"
" Yes Louisa! I told you 10 mins ago I did! Would you stop now?"

Therefore, I have decided to do a daily blog update instead of the weekly blog update.

Monday at work is always hectic! My boss is going in for surgery in two weeks and he will be off work for 6 weeks. I wonder how things are going to change in my department during his absence!

I found myself a pre-natal yoga buddy! Marie-Eve works in the marketing department and she is 15 weeks pregnant. We both live in Barrhaven, and we both went to the Barrhaven GTG two weeks ago, we both had fun and we were both surprised that we actually work at Costco Buying Office, without acutally running into each other at work! We are going to have our weekly pre-natal yoga date starting next week! Yay! When I told Joe that he won't be going to the yoga class with me, he was so relieved! Gee.... why do men not like yoga?

So, a second Gold Canyon Party is scheduled this friday evening, at our house, from 6:30pm to 8pm! So far, 4 people are confirmed and 1 maybe! This is a good start, and I really have a good feeling about my candle business! The main point is, I am doing something I really love!!!! :-) and who does not like candles right?

Week 23 -- April 27 - May 3, 2009

Week 23 -- April 27 - May 3, 2009

Monday April 27
What a busy day at work! Three more months... I will be off on maternity leave. It has been a habit of mine that I dread going to work on Mondays, not sure how well I will adjust when I stay home with baby B and Bee Bee while Joe goes to work.

Tuesday April 28
Today I was MAD. Every fourth Tuesday of the month, Joe attends the executive meeting of the Knights. I support Joe 125% on his involvement with the Knights (well but not so much with the Scouts, not sure why, but I am never fond of the Scouts!) and I have no problem that he attends two meetings every month, one is the General meeting and the other one is the Executive meeting. What I was mad about is that just before he was about to take off, he asked me if it was ok for him to behind after the meeting to watch hockey game with the boys at Kevin's house. Now, this made me mad, really mad. Ever since I am pregnant, I have made changes or sacrafices in my life for the coming of our child. What has Joe done? I told him to cut back on his meetings with the Scouts and Knights. Well, he resigned as the Venture's leader but heck he has become the Commissioner of the 25th Nepean. This translates to no more camping but more meetings. He has not cut back on his involvement with the Knights as I told him not to resign or anything. I was hoping that he will cut back on Scouts' involvement and join again when things are less hectic. Anyway, from what I see, he has not really changed much. There are weeks that he will be gone every night for meetings. It seems that there is always a meeting that he HAS to go.
So I was so mad that I explained to him that I did not want him to stay for the hockey game after the meeting. He was like, "Well you are ready to pop yet right?" What kind of a question was that for a husband to ask the pregnant wife? I tried to reason with him, but from time to time, it is really impossible! I was so mad that I gave him an ultimatum that from now on, he is allowed to go to meetings but no more socializing with the boys. He should be spending more time at home with his wife instead of trying to find excuse to get out of the house every night!
After he left for the meeting... the question of moving back to Vancouver, once again, resurfaced! I have always wanted to move back home, closer to my parents. With the baby on the way, the urge of moving back home is even stronger. I just need to make sure that there are people Joe and I can count on if something happens to us.

Wednesday April 29
Ok I only got 2 RSVPs on my candle debut party! I sent out 10 invites and only got 2 RSVPs. I was really disappointed and discouraged.

Thursday April 30
A second candle party is in the works! Hopefully this will be a better turnout and I can get people to book a show from my show!

Friday May 1
Happy Friday! I love Fridays! Joe and I had a showing of my rental apartment and hopefully we will find the tenant soon.
After the viewing, we went to LAGO for dinner. LAGO is the new restaurant right by Dow's Lake. We have been meaning to go for a long time, and tonight was the night!
They had 2 for 1 appetizers and $5 cocktails. We ordered two appetizers to share, and I had a Virgin Strawberry Margarita while Joe had a Strawberry Daiquiri! The main courses took forever to come, and while we were waiting, I became so ill that we had to tell the serve the bag our dinners and we left! Lesson learned: It is best that preggo has early dinner than late dinner.

Saturday May 2
Debut Candle Party! Though there were only three guests... we had a great time! My show sales was about $300!
In an effort to celebrate the success of my debut candle party, I put together a quite impressive meal for Joe and myself! For sure this meal was much better than what we had Friday night!
Marinated Veal Chops
Asparagus cooked in butter and balsmic vinegar

Sunday May 3
I woke up not feeling too well this morning. Though I went to bed early last night, I did no sleep very well. With the ever-growing tummy, sleeping has become a challenge. I often wake up with a numb arm or back pain.
We had to cancel the CPR for Baby course and the spring BBQ with other expecting parents in our meetup group! Gosh... I was so looking forward for this event and I felt bad that we were not able to go!

... I have been wondering if I should make my blog public again!!! Not that the water is under the bridge, and I seriously do not think that the troublemakers will pay any interest in my blog again!
